EPS has long been the material of choice for precast concrete companies
producing a broad range of different concrete products. Now contractors
are seeing the value of using
EPS block-outs onsite for everything from
bolt pockets to much larger shapes. For this project in Indianapolis,
Indiana the contractor needed 4 round blocks outs 18” thick. One was 52”
in diameter, 2 were 122” in diameter and the last one was 133” diameter.
The block-outs were shipped with holes precut so the contractor could
sandwich the cylinders between their forms and connect the two together.
After the concrete sets, the straight forms are removed and the
EPS
shape is busted out.
