GripMaxx™ Gripper Plates made of galvanized steel are used between layers of EPS geofoam to restrict lateral movement between layers. Typically 2-3 GripMaxx™ Gripper Plates are used for every 4' x 8' block or sheet. The GripMaxx™ Gripper Plates have barbs on both sides that bite into the layer below and the layer above to restrict or eliminate lateral movement. They are installed by pressing the 4" x 4" plate into the layer just installed and them pressing the next layer of geofoam into the upward protruding barbs.
