EPS Used for Lost Foam Application

A very popular use of EPS is lost foam. The lost foam application is where expanded polystyrene, in 1 lb or 2 lb density is used to create a form that is then coated with a refractory material, typically by flow coating, although it can also be dipped, brushed or sprayed. After the refractory coating sets up, the foam can be removed using a variety of different methods depending upon the shape. If multiple uses are desired and the geometry of the lost foam allows, the EPS can also be coated with a hard coat of polyurethane or epoxy allowing multiple uses. Universal Foam Product’s lost foam products are competitively priced and our niche is coated complex contours as well as uncoated basic shape

“Universal Foam Products was our Geofoam supplier for a stadium seating project in New Orleans. The material was delivered on time and cut to size. We installed the project in less than 3 hours with a 4 man crew without cutting a single piece of foam. We look forward to doing more projects with your company in the future.”
