This contractor, Shaw Homes and Renovations, had a project at a church located in Brentwood, TN 37027. The church was looking to create a stage for their choir off of the preexisting layout. The challenge was to make something strong, silent, and easy to set up and take down for an economical price. This is where the EPS Foam was a great solution. The customer ordered various thicknesses of the Expanded Polystyrene foam as the existing steps varied from 5 3/4 to 6 1/2 inches. The foam was ordered in 4 x 8 foot sheets and cut with a hot wire on site to fit to size. They then covered the foam with tempered hardboard, which was screwed to wooden blocks they had glued to the foam.
Universal Foam Products can cut all of the foam pieces to size in house, or the foam can be cut fairly easily with any of the hot wire foam cutting tools as what was the preferred way for this contractor. These tools, such as, hot wires, hot knives, and bow-cutters can all be provided and bought through Universal Foam Products.
