EPS Foam is a great use for insulation and floatation. This customer located in Mission Viejo, CA 92691 decided to use both properties of the
EPS Foam Sheets as an insulated pool cover. Between the colder months of November to the end of March they cover their pool with the foam and temporarily remove half of the foam when they want to swim laps. The pool is kept at about a consistent 86 degrees.
The customer coated the panels with white roofing mastic to prevent any chance of water absorption. They say it has worked great and with the combination of the
EPS foam, the sun and a commercial gas heater, it has cost less than $25 a month to swim all year round.
