EPS15 Geofoam was used to create the secant forms for this secant pile project in Waukesha, WI 53186. The lightweight
EPS15 forms were designed to interlock with each other forming a perfect circle per the engineers requirements. After the forms were set in place, the contractor installed concrete on both sides of the 29” diameter x 48” tall forms, creating a rigid guide for the drilling rig. With a compression strength of 3.6 psi @ 1% deformation, the forms had minimal compression from the weight of the concrete. The
EPS15 forms were then drilled out and the deep holes filled with concrete and steel reinforcing, creating a water tight enclosure.
