Universal Foam Products supplied custom EPS15 Geofoam forms for a secant pile compression ring project in Fort Worth, TX. The project consisted of 58 custom forms measuring 36" diameter x 24" depth with a 7-3/4" overlap cutout, designed to create the circular compression ring structure.
Secant pile compression rings utilize overlapping drilled shafts to form a continuous, rigid wall system that resists surrounding earth and groundwater pressures through hoop stress, eliminating the need for internal bracing or tiebacks. The lightweight EPS Geofoam forms allowed for easy handling, accurate placement, and efficient installation in the field, helping streamline construction while maintaining tight dimensional requirements for the project.
