This railroad bridge located in Presque Isle, Maine went through a rehabilitation project in which Universal Foam Products helped with the expanding of the existing piers. The first step was a sandbag cofferdam around the pier to keep the work area dry, since this project was in the middle of a stream. The EPS39 Geofoam was cut to size in the factory to be used as a concrete form liner against the pier to create the shape needed for the new pour. The contractor was easily able to attach their straight forms to the foam forms provided by Universal, because of a unique patent system which was developed several years ago by Universal Foam Products. The contractor was very pleased with everything and said, “The foam fit perfectly!”
