EPS Architectural Shapes
EPS architectural moldings and trim are lightweight and easy to install and finish. These photos show EPS creating a beamed ceiling effect in a Ruth’s Chris Steak House renovation project. The EPS can be precut to shape or fabricated in layers on site. It is typically installed using water based adhesives along with 2 sided tape available from Universal Foam Products. The tape holds the foam in place allowing the adhesive time to set up. The trim is then spackled, sanded and painted. The finished product looks exactly like any high quality wood molding, but at a fraction of the cost. For this project, hundreds of pieces of .9 lb density expanded polystyrene were used in both flat stock as well as precut shapes to create the finished project.
