Geofoam Used for Bridge Construction

An EPS39 Geofoam form liner 40′ Long x 5′ Wide x 3′-5 3/16″ high along with two triangular form liners 24-1/16″ x 60″ x 84″ of the same material were used to form up the curved and tapered underside of this concrete bridge support. The contractor used ¾” plywood on top of the Geofoam and was able to use the forms multiple times. Here is what the Project Engineer had to say about the material “I think the EPS was a good choice. It saved a tremendous amount of carpenter work and left us with a nice product. This project has been complicated as is; with the EPS it made this particularly complicated piece of work very simple.” 4
