This contractor located in the Philadelphia area was building a 79,500 square foot greenhouse. They installed 1.5" thick 1.8 lb density EPS foam sheets under the concrete pad to insulate the in-floor heating system. This is the 2nd greenhouse project completed by this contractor with the rigid insulation being provided by Universal Foam Products.
To install the insulation, the contractor first put down a layer of gravel to create a level surface. The foam was then installed with woven wire on top. The contractor wired the radiant heat tubing to the woven wire and then poured a 5.25" concrete slab. With the radiant heat tubing and the foam, the greenhouse can regulate its temperature easier and more efficiently. The insulated concrete slab holds and radiates the heat for an extended period of time.
