Universal Foam Products is proud to play a role in advancing sustainable aquaculture innovation. Our 1 lb Virgin EPS 9" Diameter Foam Cylinders are being used to provide essential flotation for the very first AquaFort aquaculture platform in the Gulf of Mexico.
The foam cylinders were installed inside the platform pontoons to deliver consistent buoyancy and long-term durability in a demanding marine environment. The AquaFort platform will be launched next month in Alabama state waters, where it will be used to raise Red Drum for local markets.
This groundbreaking project is a collaborative effort between Dauphin Island Sea Lab, the University of New Hampshire, and the University of Southern Mississippi, aimed at supporting sustainable seafood production and innovative offshore farming technology.
