EPS Geofoam, is a lightweight, engineered void fill material used in various construction and civil engineering applications. On this specific project located in San Antonio, Texas, the contractor aimed to elevate the ground surface outside of an apartment complex. Using a blend of EPS19 Geofoam in 2” and 3” thicknesses, the contractor effectively layered the material to achieve the desired elevation. Cutting and trimming of the foam sheets were conducted on site by the contractor using a hot knife. Subsequently, a 4” concrete slab was poured atop the prepared surface.
