Universal Foam Products supplied 2” Type II EPS foam sheets (1.5 lb nominal density) for a new ICF retirement home project in Big Sandy, Texas, about 100 miles east of Dallas. The foam was installed under a crawl space “rat slab” made of approximately 3-1/2” of concrete, creating part of a fully conditioned crawl space within the building envelope.
Next steps on the project include installing floor beams/I-joists, subflooring, and then the main structure walls. The customer reported the foam performed well in the field and noted a smooth ordering and loading process with the Universal Foam Products team.
